“I am not interested in the obvious - what you see on the outside - I am interested in what is beneath the surface, hidden from view”

I am Fiona and I am IntuitiveArt.UK
I graduated a Woven Textiles specialist from Loughborough College of Art in 1993. I went on to graduate from Goldsmiths University, London as a secondary school Art teacher in 1996. Since then I have taught young, old and everything in between. I have taught in the UK and I have taught overseas. I have taught in schools, in prisons, in care homes, in art galleries, in adult education and online. My experiences as a teacher have moulded my interests as an artist. Drawing is my passion and pen my go to medium. My work uses visual imagery and symbolism to tell stories, relay messages or explore those difficult questions. My keen interest in mental health, psychotherapy, well-being and behaviour is integral to my artistic explorations. My artwork starts in black - often remaining monochromatic - with occasional splashes of colour to relay a key message, convey an emotion or highlight a symbolic concept. |
